Our story
169 Years of Stories. Now With a New Keeper.
Built in 1857 by lumber baron H.D. Moore, the Park House is one of Saugatuck's oldest residences. Moore built it so his wife would join him in Saugatuck as he grew his lumber empire.
Now, while we are not fans of lumber barons or empires around here, we do love history, because there are always other stories to be told.
For example, in 1879, Susan B. Anthony herself slept under this roof, guest of Mrs. H.D. (Tamar) Moore.
